Hi, I'm Ann! 👋🏻 I'm an Oak Park mom that loves shopping locally and buying preloved goods (especially kid stuff!).
I started Project Preloved with a mission to develop a better platform for moms in Oak Park to buy and sell preloved items, while also making a positive impact in our community! Existing online marketplaces fall short and can make buying and selling a frustrating, time-consuming, and uncomfortable experience. With Project Preloved, my goal is to create a safer, more convenient platform for us moms, to comfortably and easily exchange preloved goods locally.

INTERESTED IN SELLING?
Step 1: Sign Up & Create Your Profile
Add a few personal details to tell buyers a little more about you! Please read our Project Preloved Community Guidelines here.
Step 2: List Your Item
Add details such as the brand, size, and condition of your item. Check out tips on how to price your items to sell and how to make your items stand out in photos, and learn more information on Project Preloved's platform fees.
Step 3: Select Pickup Location
Project Preloved is local only! No shipping necessary. If you prefer not to share your home address on your listing, choose the address of a nearby public establishment. Via the website, you can message with the buyer on our platform once the buyer completes the purchase to set a more specific location for pick up, drop off, or exchange.
Step 4: Payment Information
The platform will ask for your bank account info when you post a listing so that you can get paid. Pro tip: add your Venmo account information if you don’t want to add your bank account details. You can view your Venmo account and routing number in the Venmo mobile app, under the “Me” tab -> Settings gear on top right —> Direct Deposit.
Step 5: Sell to Local Moms
When one of your items sells, you'll receive a notification in your email and inbox on Project Preloved. Then, you can coordinate pick-up time and location for the local buyer to come get their purchase.
Step 6: Get Paid!
Check your inbox! Once both parties confirm that the order was exchanged, payment will be issued within 5 to 10 business days. Project Preloved will collect platform fees at the time of payout. Details about Project Preloved's platform fees can be found here.

Signing up is easy, quick, and free! Please read our Project Preloved Community Guidelines here.
Step 2: Browse Listings
Use the search bar to find your favorite brands or filter by category to search for specific items in mind.
Step 3: Questions About an Item?
If you have any questions about an item, you can send a message directly to the seller by clicking 'contact seller' before purchasing.
Step 4: Buy Now
Like an item? Payment is easy! Fill in your credit card info, add a message to the buyer about your pick-up availability, and hit the 'BUY NOW' button to initiate your purchase. You payment will be held until you pick up the item.
Step 5: Coordinate Pick-Up Details
Once the Seller accepts your purchase, keep in touch to coordinate a pick-up time and location via your inbox messages.
Step 6: Confirm Pick-Up & Enjoy!
Confirm you picked up the item, leave a review on the Seller's page, and enjoy your purchase!

Giving Back to Oak Park
A goal of Project Preloved is to give back to our Oak Park community. Each month, a portion of the proceeds will go towards a local organization, helping to support and strengthen our vibrant community. Our first organization will be Hephzibah Children's Association. Let's make a difference together!
